Step back in time and discover Northern Ireland's rich linen heritage at this hands-on workshop in the historic surroundings of President Arthur Cottage on 10 October, 12 noon to 2.30pm.
During this unique experience, you'll:
*Learn about the history of flax and linen in Northern Ireland
*Explore the flax plant, from growing to processing
*Process your own bundle of locally grown flax using traditional tools, including a ripple comb, breaker, scutching board and hackle
*Spin linen yarn or create cordage using a drop spindle
*Take home at least one metre of your own handmade yarn or cordage
