Celebrate Ballymena 400 by discovering one of Ulster's oldest rural traditions at this hands on Heritage Spinning Day. Led by Mary, our resident crafter, this relaxed and welcoming workshop will guide participants through the full process of transforming raw fleece into beautiful, hand spun thread using traditional spinning techniques.
Spinning was once an essential skill in everyday life, and during this workshop you'll learn how fleece was prepared, drafted, and spun—gaining insight into a craft that shaped communities across rural Ulster for generations. Whether you're a complete beginner or simply curious about heritage skills, Mary's expertise and friendly approach make this the perfect introduction.
