About
Dr Gina Pierce will be telling the true, but intriguing story, of a refugee from Nazi Germany setting up a factory near Kells to produce the most beautiful and expensive fabrics to supply ocean liners, embassies and palaces.
In 1953, HM Queen Elizabeth II visited Ballymena on her Coronation tour of the area, and was presented with a large box containing 'six beautiful tapestry cushions designed by Tapestry Weavers (Ulster)' by the daughter of the Town Clerk. Dr Pierce has traced where these cushions have ended up.
