A beginner weaving demonstration will take place on Saturday 15th August 2026, from 11.00am – 3.00pm in Larne Museum & Arts Centre. This is a drop in event and everyone is welcome to watch as a tapestry comes together, and even take part in hand weaving with the simplest of looms – cardboard looms! The only thing required is reasonable manual dexterity.
This demonstration is part of a small, hallway exhibition called 'Weaving in Larne', which runs from Friday 31st July until Friday 4th September 2026. The exhibition and this event have been curated by Baran Bayat, a work placement student from Larne Grammar School.
