About
This exhibition is a small, hallway display which looks at the history of the linen industry in Larne, particularly at Larne Weaving Company, Inver Cotton and Linen Mill, and Millbrook Weaving Factory.
The information focuses on how these factories helped shape Larne for decades, and how they affected the people around them. Artefacts, photographs, and newspaper clippings of these factories will be on display, alongside books on weaving and the production of flax.
The exhibition will be on display from Friday 31st July until Friday 4th September and includes Saturday opening on 15th August. Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 10.00am to 4.00pm.
A weaving demonstration will take place in Larne Museum & Arts Centre on Saturday 15th August as a party of this exhibition.
This exhibition and the weaving demonstration have been curated by Baran Bayat, a work placement student from Larne Grammar School.
