About

This event takes place at Shaftesbury Park, Carrickfergus.

Gates open 6.30pm, show starts 7.30pm

The award-winning outdoor theatre company ‘Illyria’ is set to visit Mid & East Antrim with an exciting production of Pride and Prejudice this summer.

“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.” Mrs Bennet certainly thinks so, contriving to find suitable husbands for her five daughters. Thank heavens Lizzy, her second daughter, finds disdainful Mr Darcy detestable! Or does she…? Can she see beyond his pride – and could he overcome her prejudice – to consider a possible future together? Following seven sell-out seasons of this sparkling adaptation, award-winning Illyria returns to celebrate Jane Austen’s 250th birthday in style. Bring a picnic, your own seating and enjoy her at her vibrant, forthright, feisty best!

The show will begin at 7.30pm, and gates will be open to ticketholders from 6.30pm with entertainment from the lively Third Carrickfergus Brass Band in Carrickfergus, so do ensure to arrive early enough to enjoy the music!

Running time: 140-minutes (approximately), including a 20-minute interval.

Suitable for all ages.
