About

Choose your whiskey flight, then immerse yourself in the stories soaked into the walls around you. From aristocrats and Prime Ministers, to the amazing racehorse Arkle, share the flavours of the past and feel their warmth as you sip and savour specially created Bushmills Whiskey Flights paired with local delicacies and sharing platters.

The Arkle Whiskey Bar in the Londonderry Arms is named after the legendary 1960’s steeplechaser. This family run bar is steeped in history and heritage and is the perfect place to share a dram, good conversation with the locals and soak up the spirit of the land and people that make this place so unique.

The Arkle Hat Trick

In 1966 Arkle won his Gold Cup hat trick at Cheltenham.  At the very top of his game, this trustworthy talent fuelled the fun in the Arkle Club, creating positivity, confidence and excitement. It was this blend of good feelings that made a trip to the Arkle Bar worth it then, and more than worth it now, with this hat trick of incredible blends from Old Bushmills Distillery, paired with locally sourced nibbles.

The Arkle Club

When proprietor Frank O’Neill died in 1993, the Arkle Club died with him. For it was him, not just Arkle that more than 50 members came here for. He served up wise counsel when it was wanted, a whiskey when it wasn’t. The Arkle Club was about so much more than the horse. It was people sharing their time and stories, the best things in life to bet on. This iconic whiskey flight consisting of the 10, 12 and 16 year old blends is paired with locally produced tasting platters.

The Aristocrat

The 3rd Marchioness of Londonderry, Frances Anne Vane brought change to Carnlough. Her wit and wealth made her a darling of emperors, rulers and statesmen. But her social and industrial spirit shaped this place.  So raise your glass and proudly sip the finest whiskeys including Bushmills 21 year and the special 1995 blend, served with luxury locally sourced tasting platters inspired by a famous Arkle Club dinner.
