About

Situated in the heart of Larne, the Town Hall officially opened in 1870 so is a Grade B listed building, designed in the Gothic Revival Style.  Substantial renovation works took place in 2012, turning it into a a modern heritage building, which is a delightful venue for civil ceremonies.

Larne Town Hall is owned and operated by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council and offers 2 room venues for hire.

McGarel Hall - The Main Hall
Capacity 
Up to 150 theatre style
Up to 80 banquet style

Wilson Room - The Minor Hall 
Capacity 
Up to 60 theatre style
Up to 40 banquet style

Seating and tables are provided.  An in-house catering service can provide teas/coffees and scones or biscuits.  

If additional catering is required, hirers may make their own arrangements for the provision of catering requirements for their event.  A kitchen is available adjacent to the Main Hall and this may be made available as part of the booking at the appropriate charge. 

Any hirer intending to bring food to the venue for serving, reheating or cooking should consider using a caterer who is a Registered Food Business.

Additional hours by special arrangement and subject to other booking requirements

Sessions
Morning - Morning events must vacate the room by 13.00
09.00 – 13.00

Afternoon - Afternoon bookings begin at 14.00 and must vacate the room by 18.00
14:00 – 18;00

Evening 19:00– 23:00

Hourly bookings These will considered, subject to availability
Please note that the hire period includes time required for “set up” and “take down”
