Explore Galgorm Castle & Grounds: 1603 – 2024 & Beyond - A Guided Tour Through Centuries with Glenburn Tours
Step into the story of one of Northern Ireland’s most remarkable estates on a guided walking tour with George Chesney of Glenburn Tours. Explore 'Galgorm Castle: 1603 – 2024 & Beyond' as you experience over 400 years of history in just one hour, uncovering the fascinating past and dynamic present of Galgorm Castle and grounds.
Originally granted by King James I in 1607 to the warrior Rory Óg MacQuillan, the estate was soon taken over by Sir Faithful Fortescue, who built the striking Jacobean castle in 1618. Now one of the finest examples of its kind in Ireland, the castle overlooks the 10th green of the estate’s championship golf course - where the ruins of MacQuillan’s original fort still linger.
From ancient fortifications and dramatic power struggles to modern-day leisure, business and culinary experiences, Galgorm Castle has evolved into a vibrant destination. After your tour, dine at the acclaimed Castle Kitchen + Bar, where tour participants can avail of a 10% discount off meals.
Tours run every Wednesday at 11:15am, with extra dates available during the summer and flexible bookings for groups. Come walk through the ages - explore centuries in an hour. Tours cost £10 per adult. Children free.
