Ballymena Christmas Lights Switch On

Harmony Hub, Ballymena, County Antrim, BT43 6DS
People parading with star lanterns and wearing Santa hats in Ballymena town centre with Christmas lights switched on.

About

Join us on Saturday 15 November in Ballymena town centre as we switch on the Ballymena Christmas Lights! Local Legend, DJ Mark Ritchie will be spinning the Christmas hits from 14:00 before Downtown Radio and Gary Myles from the Breakfast Show take over from 16:00 with competitions and giveaways.

The appearance from NI’s best radio station is thanks to Ballymena BID, Council’s partner for this event. There will be Christmassy walkabout characters, face painting, and toe-tapping tunes from the live concert stage at Harmony Hub - featuring live music from Ballymena Strummers and Ballymena Community Choir.

The Santa Parade starts from Wellington Street at 18:00 and will feature Cullybackey Pipe Band, festive floats, Christmas trains, children from Ballymena PS and Dunclug PS, Santa’s Clydesdale horses and dray, and plenty of festive characters to entertain the crowds!

The route will take in Wellington Street, Ballymoney Street, William Street, Broughshane Street, (pause at Harmony Hub to switch on the lights at 18:30 with Santa, Mayor and Deputy Mayor), Church Street, Bryan Street and back to the Tower Centre who are kindly helping put on event.

Quiet Time takes place at Wellington Court 15:00 - 16:00 with a relaxed session of sensory play.
