About

Fun with Fossils

Saturday 22nd February; 10am -3pm

Carrickfergus Museum

Come and make fossils with plaster of paris and fossil moulds and find out from experts about our local fossils.  You can bring home your own handmade replicas and learn a little bit about where they lived and why they are important.  The museum has fossils that were collected by local antiquarian, Rev Canon J.C Rutherford and you will be able to see these and other local fossils, such as ammonites and sea urchins. The East Antrim coast is rich in a wide range of fossils in the chalk and the Jurassic clays and limestones.

Delivered by the Belfast Geologists’ Society and National Museums NI
