The Boat House Barista

About

The Boat House Barista is a welcoming coastal coffee stop situated at Port Davey along the scenic Blackhead Coastal Path in Whitehead. After parking at the Blackhead car park, visitors can enjoy a short 500‑metre walk, cycle or run, toward the lighthouse, where this charming spot sits overlooking the sea. From as far back as 1642, a busy little port existed here, as passengers arrived at Port Davey from Scotland - though today it is surrounded by a wall of rocks formed during improvements to the Blackhead Path.

It has become a favourite rest point for walkers, families, and those exploring the dramatic coastline.

Serving freshly brewed coffee, speciality teas, iced drinks, scones, traybakes, and light snacks, The Boat House Barista offers the ideal place to pause and refuel. Outdoor picnic tables provide a comfortable place to sit, take in the views, and relax for a while. They occasionally have other mobile caterers pop up there, so follow on Facebook to hear whether they have pizza or other treats on offer!

For those days when the weather turns, a small indoor shelter ensures guests can still enjoy their treats in comfort. With its friendly atmosphere, quality refreshments, and picturesque setting, The Boat House Barista adds a memorable highlight to any visit along the Blackhead Path.
