Discover Cherie Craig Art in Bothy #2 at Glenarm Castle Estate

Nestled within the tranquil Kitchen Garden at Glenarm Castle Estate, Bothy #2 is the creative home of local artist Cherie Craig. From March to October, visitors can step inside this peaceful space to observe Cherie as she paints, gaining an intimate glimpse into her artistic process.
Cherie’s work is deeply connected to the landscapes of Northern Ireland, particularly its dramatic coastline. She describes the sea as a constant source of inspiration—calming, powerful, and endlessly fascinating. This enduring connection is reflected throughout her collections, where coastal textures, shifting tides, and atmospheric light play a central role.

In recent years, the historic walled garden surrounding the Bothy has also influenced Cherie’s art. Its seasonal blooms, rich colours, and timeless charm appear in pieces that celebrate the beauty and character of Glenarm’s unique setting.

With more than 30 years of experience exhibiting and selling her work, Cherie brings both depth and authenticity to her studio. Following a successful career in the design industry and extensive travel, she returned home to Northern Ireland to focus on painting and lecturing. She is frequently found working outdoors at her favourite coastal viewpoints, where she captures scenes directly from nature.

Visitors to Bothy #2 are invited to browse a curated selection of original artworks—each one a distinctive expression of local landscape, heritage, and place. It’s a rare opportunity to meet the artist, enjoy the atmosphere of the Kitchen Garden, and take home a piece that reflects the spirit of Glenarm Castle Estate.
