Blackhead Lightkeepers' House 2 is one of three houses on the Lightkeepers' station at Blackhead, built in 1901 on the North Shore of Belfast Lough opposite its twin lighthouse at Mew Island.

Perched on the edge of a cliff, the station once guided some of Belfast's most famous ships out to sea – including the Titanic – and today offers a wild, windswept retreat on the Antrim Coast. Each house has been fully restored to its former glory, with bright rooms furnished with antiques and original lighthouse paraphernalia, its own dining room, sitting room, and garden, and sea views out across the lough.

House 2 is the largest of the three units, sleeping 7 across a double bedroom, a room with a double and single bed, and two single rooms, with an open fire and a bathroom that has both a bathtub and a separate shower room. The garden comes with its own garden furniture. It can also be combined with House 1, and with the Cutter, for groups of up to 16 sharing across the site. Pets are not permitted.

Guests can watch the sun rise over the Irish Sea from the site, and if you're lucky enough to stay during a storm, you'll get to experience the elements at their wildest. Guests love letting their imagination run wild and living like a lightkeeper for a short stay, curling up by the fire as the wind howls outside.

A coastal path runs from the property directly to Whitehead, a 35-minute walk that takes in some of the best views on this stretch of the Antrim coast. Whitehead itself lies 20 miles north of Belfast and is just a 40-minute train journey from the city centre, with its own station on the Belfast–Larne line, a Railway Museum, and the Marine Bar for a drink afterwards – handy for a day trip into Belfast for shopping or a historical tour. Closer to home, guests can walk the Gobbins Cliff Path or swim at nearby Portmuck.
