About

The boutique upstairs suite of The Pink Cottage is tranquil and cosy with a traditional vintage interior style that's just intriguing.
It has breath-taking sea views and a private secluded and sheltered Secret Garden to unwind in. We aim to make each guest feel completely pampered!

The Pink Cottage is situated on a stunning rural headland walk that leads to Blackhead Lighthouse & a coastal path which meanders along to the Victorian town of Whitehead in Northern Ireland.

Ideal for guests who want to journey along the rugged Causeway Coast, with the spectacular Gobbins Cliff Path and its suspension bridges 5mins away.

Other treats on this magnificent coast worth exploring include the UNESCO world heritage site of the Giant’s Causeway, a staircase-like geological feature, also Game of Thrones film locations, rope bridges, fishing villages all on this coastal drive straight from our pink front door!

A few minutes walk along our lane is an 18 hole golf course, Whitehead Golf Club, where guests are made very welcome if they wish to play or just use the restaurant.

Or, if you simply want to relax, unwind and rejuvenate... its perfect.

The original part of the cottage was built around 400 years ago, so we are told. It has lots of original charm, in particular the head height....some doorways are a little small, so mind your head!

RELAX

The large living area is where you can sit and relax and just look out the window at the sea view, or read a good book. There's a comfy sofa with cosy throws to recline on while gazing or reading. Or you can always catch up with your favourite Netflix series on the Smart TV.  The little dining space is perfect if you just want to eat-in.  The living room also has a writing bureau, should you want to do some work, or send an old fashioned letter.
Oh, if you do, you can post it in the red letterbox just outside this holiday cottage, daily collections. There are some board games like the old favourite Scrabble and a small but growing collection of books. Wifi is also good.

DINE

The large living area with TV also incorporates a little dining area.  You'll find a fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle along with utensils and chopping board. Plates, bowls, glasses and wine and Prosecco glasses are supplied too.  All this is so you can easily prepare and heat food and dine-in, if you wish*  If you love good coffee there's local ground coffee and a cafetiere.  And for tea lovers there's a little selection, including loose leaf tea and an infuser teapot for the perfect brew. Use the fridge to chill beer, wine or Prosecco so you can relax and enjoy a glass of something in the evening...maybe even in the Secret Garden, weather permitting.
(*Please note, there's no stove top cooker, just the microwave.)

COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST
You'll find some lovely complimentary breakfast items waiting for you to enjoy. No need to remember to do a shop for basics before you get here. Here's what we leave for you:
- Locally baked bread
- Local Butter
- Strawberry Jam and marmalade locally made by Annies Delights
- Luxury Muesli
- Irish Organic Porridge Oats (sachets),
- Ground coffee for the cafetiere )and instant)
- Tea - loose leaf and bags
- Local fresh milk  (semi-skimmed)

SLEEP SOUNDLY

The double bedroom has a very comfy luxurious king-sized bed with a super quality memory mattress for a restful night’s sleep. Added to that is 100% cotton premium high-thread count natural bed linens.  The window has a discreet black-out blind should you want to banish the early morning light. There's phone charging points by the bed and a hairdryer too.

WASH

The bathroom has been newly refurbished with a luxurious clawed feet roll-top traditional bath,  which I couldn't resist painting pink! The shower is electric and it's in the bath. There's complimentary aromatherapy hand, body and hair wash, which are made with all natural ingredients, organic where possible. These are in elegant glass bottles to avoid plastic.

The floor is a vintage design tile with the added luxury of underfloor heating to keep your toes toasty!
And of course, the towels are pure white and extremely fluffy. We also provide full length white 100% cotton bath robes to wrap yourself in for that perfect spa feeling.

And if you do like to soak, you'll find some Pink Cottage home made own-blend complimentary rejuvenating bath salts to melt away and aches and pains!

SECRET GARDEN

You also have private access to the Secret Garden which lies hidden at the bottom of the garden of our holiday cottage.
It's sheltered and secluded with high hedges, looking over the sea...perfect to sit and read and listen to the birds. And, there's a chiminea for the cooler evenings and a bbq if the weather's good.

There's some kindling, logs, tea lights, bbq coals, matches...all you need for a couple of evenings to keep warm in the garden while watching the sunset.  The soft chair cushions are kept easily accessible in a storage container at one side of the garden, so it's quick and easy to get comfy and enjoy the sea air.

Bring a good book and if you're still sitting there after the afternoon sun fades, there's a couple of blankets if it gets chilly!
And the best bit...no-one will know you're even there!
