About

LEVEL 2 TOUR GUIDE

Adrian Hack is a level 2 qualified guide, based in Carrickfergus, who specialises in World War 2 history and the medieval connections around this historic town.  He is a member of Tour Guides NI.

As a long time resident of Carrickfergus, Adrian has always had a passion for the town’s rich heritage, and since taking early retirement has turned that interest into a series of Guided Walking Tours and Presentations.

Adrian, through his business ' Lead the Way Tours', offers a guided walking tour of Carrickfergus, looking at how the town was impacted by the Second World War. Through photographs, artefacts, stories, and visits to key locations, Adrian will help you discover how the people who lived, worked or were temporarily based here adapted to life under wartime conditions.

In partnership with Dobbins Inn and fellow tour guide George McGrand, Adrian delivers a special tour as part of Dobbins Dander and Dine.  This walk begins in the shadow of Carrickfergus Castle, and covers the history of parts of the town which would have been visible from the plot of land which is currently the front of Carrick’s Hidden Tower House - Dobbins Inn. The short ‘dander’ takes 75 minutes to complete, and concludes by handing guests over to the team at Dobbins Inn ,who provide an excellent medieval-inspired meal in their bespoke ‘dine’ room.

Adrian also offers a range of presentations and talks which can be delivered for groups and at various venues.
